Jeunesse distributors share their best sales and business-building tips

Jul 20, 2021

At Jeunesse, we strongly believe in sharing information to empower everyone in the business to achieve their personal goals. Our business leaders have a wealth of experience in creating pathways to increase sales and grow teams, but just as important are the success strategies devised by our distributors.

These hardworking business owners have done the legwork and they know what it takes to achieve success. So we asked our distributors to share their best tips and advice for fellow Jeunesse business owners. Here’s what they told us...

1. Believe in your product

As a business owner and network marketing professional, everything flows from this one simple point. When you truly believe in your business and your product, you’re excited to share it with people you meet in an authentic and meaningful way.

As Pearl distributor Annewee Lee says: “We are not selling products, we are helping others.”

This subtle shift in mindset is incredibly important for your business success. It’s echoed by Sapphire Elite Angel Ng when she advises that Jeunesse business owners “always speak from the heart. We are not salespeople and should never try to become a salesperson.”

When you believe in your product and are committed to using it every day, you’ll also become your own best advertisement. Sapphire distributor Ange Prema says she makes a point to always look and feel her best, so people are drawn to ask her about the products she uses.

“You have to live and breathe your business by ensuring you use the product so you look the part,” says Ange. “You have to believe in and love what you are doing.”

2. Focus on communication

Believing in your product is the essential first step, but it’s just as important to develop a comfortable and self-assured communication style, where both you and your clients feel at ease.

Good communication has two components – listening and speaking. And listening should always come first, says Sapphire Sally Smarrelli. “Listen to people and probe them for more information. You need to work out their issue before providing solutions,” she advises.

When presenting to clients and new prospects, Ruby distributor Jerry Zheng says it’s important to make your presentation simple and easy to understand, and to approach everyone equally and without judgement. After the presentation, he recommends focusing on those people who have a positive or curious attitude, to help address any of their questions. This can be a better use of your valuable time than trying to convince prospects who have a negative attitude, says Jerry.

3. One team, one family

Top-performing Jeunesse distributors truly understand the power of working as a team.

“The most important lesson that I have learnt from running a business is that without teamwork, one will not achieve much success,” says Sapphire Angeline Khoo.

Don’t forget your team encompasses all the people in your network, including both your mentors and your recruits, and it’s important to understand how each person contributes to the success of everyone else.

Leaders and those in your upline have on-the-ground experience and are an invaluable source of information and real-life strategies to help you reach your goals. “My mentors have taught me so many things that I am still learning to adapt into my business one step at a time,” says Jade distributor Jessica Stringile.

Equally, the distributors in your team will only develop their full potential when you share your knowledge and experience with them. As Jerry Zheng points out: “The most important lesson I've learned from running a business is to keep the relationships [strong]. Don't try to change people. Instead, encourage each other to do their best.”

What’s more, once you develop a teamwork mentality, the benefits will flow to so many areas of your life.

“The friendships I have made are invaluable,” says Angel Ng. “Seeing my members grow as a person – that sense of pride and achievement can never be described in words.”
